Region’s Leading Luxury Jeweler Renames Sandcastle Stadium to Bernie Robbins Stadium

ATLANTIC CITY _ The Atlantic City Surf announced that the club has reached an agreement with Bernie Robbins Fine Jewelry to rename Sandcastle Stadium to Bernie Robbins Stadium. The arrangement was consummated by Surf president and CEO Mark Schuster and Bernie Robbins Owner and President Harvey Rovinsky. The agreement was cited by Schuster as a critical piece of the Surf’s economic future in Atlantic City and has been approved by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority(CRDA).

“This is a great day for the Atlantic City Surf,’’ Schuster said. “We have found a first-class naming rights partner who has invested time and money in the Atlantic City and South Jersey communities.’’The Surf now join the Somerset Patriots, the Long Island Ducks, the Lancaster Barnstormers and the Camden Riversharks as Atlantic League teams who have naming rights deals with their respective stadiums. The Surf played the first game in Atlantic League history on May 20, 1998, at Sandcastle Stadium against the Somerset Patriots. The current stadium seats 5900 and has 20 SkyCastle suites. Schuster indicated that all of the Surf’s team advertising, correspondence and press releases would be changed with respect to the agreement. The arrangement also includes stadium signage. The sign located along Albany Avenue will be changed from the Sandcastle to Bernie Robbins Stadium The naming rights portion is part of an overall strategic campaign instituted by Schuster to transform the Atlantic City Surf from a minor league baseball product to a total entertainment company.
