Calling All Design Students

Bernie Robbins Jewelers is challenging YOU to design our 50th Anniversary piece of jewelry. Student entries will be judged by a panel of internationally renowned jewelry designers and will be based on the following criteria:

1) Originality & Creativity of Design

2) Reflection of the Bernie Robbins Brand and its fifty-year heritage

3) Feasibility of Production

4) Public Popularity via online community

The winning design will be produced and sold at Bernie Robbins stores throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania in spring 2013. The winner will receive a $500 cash prize, first production of the winning piece and a portion of each sale will be donated to the winning students' alma mater in the form of a scholarship.

HOW TO ENTER

Contest opens for submissions at 9:00AM EST September 19, 2012. Complete the online entry form below.

You will not be permitted to complete the entrance form in phases, so please read all questions thoroughly, prepare your answers and have images readily available for upload.

The entry form will allow you to upload corresponding images and renderings along with information about the piece including artist bio, design inspiration and suggested materials/gems.

Due to the unprecedented circumstances and loss of utilities throughout our region last week, we have extended the deadline for submissions to the Student Design Contest.

Contest Details

Bernie Robbins will post ALL entries to Facebook by November 19, 2012 and encourage the general public to vote for their favorite piece. Facebook voting will close at 11:59PM EST November 30, 2012. Facebook votes will contribute 30% toward the determination of contest finalists. The remaining 70% will be based upon the criteria to the left.

Finalists will be posted on bernierobbins.com at 5:00PM EST December 5, 2012. This will roughly equate to 10-20 percent of the total entries received.

The winning student design will be announced LIVE at Bernie Robbins Jewelers at The Radnor Hotel on December 12, 2012 at 7:00PM EST. If you are selected as a Finalist, you are required to attend the LIVE event in order to be eligible as the Finale Winner. Family and friends of the Finalists are welcome and Bernie Robbins encourages that students, faculty, press and others attend the LIVE CONTEST FINALE.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY & TERMS

Entrants must be current undergraduate or graduate students or enrolled in a fashion or jewelry design training program.

Each student may submit up to (3) three unique designs which will require separate entry forms.

Each design must be an original work and may not include any copyrighted elements.
